Flood Attenuation Drainage Control Systems

Controlling Surface Water

Climate change and alterations to the built environment have caused more frequent flooding and the consequent damage to property as well as the risk to life.

Flood attenuation systems act as a collection area for large exceptional volumes of flood water. Water is stored and then released at a rate that the sewers can cope with. This requires the installation of a storage capacity and then a control system to allow the stored water to be released to suit the downstream sewer capacity.

The approach to attenuation varies depending upon site requirements and range from pre-fabricated tanks to systems constructed in situ. All require site preparation, excavation, installation and then re-instatement. Our team are experienced in delivering projects of this type.
